Our Review
Cardiologist Peter Thompson planted the 1st vines at Thompson Estate in '97, inspired by his and his family’s shareholdings in the Pierro and Fire Gully vineyards and by visits to many of the world’s premium wine regions. Two more vineyards (both planted in ’97) have been purchased; varieties include cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, semillon, pinot noir and malbec. -JAMES HALLIDAY
