Yarrambat Estate

Ivan McQuilkin has pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay and merlot in his vineyard in the northwestern corner of the Yarra Valley, not far from the Plenty River. It is very much an alternative occupation for Ivan, whose principal activity is as an international taxation consultant to expatriate employees. While the decision to make wine was at least in part triggered by falling grape prices, hindsight proves it to have been a good one. Exports to Singapore and China. -JAMES HALLIDAY
