One of the greatest of the fortified winemakers, ranking an eyelash behind Chambers Rosewood. Morris has changed the labelling system for its sublime fortified wines with a higher-than-average entry point for the (Classic) Muscat; Topaque and the ultra-premium wines are being released under the Old Premium (Rare) label. The art of these wines lies in the blending of very old and much younger material. These Rutherglen fortified wines have no equivalent in any other part of the world (with the honourable exception of Seppeltsfield in the Barossa Valley). In '16, Casella Family Brands acquired Morris after decades of uninterested ownership by Pernod Ricard. -JAMES HALLIDAY
