Our Review
Once an offspring of Werribee Park, Shadowfax is now very much its own master. It has 10ha of mature vineyards at Werribee; plus 5ha of close-planted pinot noir, 5ha of chardonnay and 2ha of pinot gris at the Little Hampton Vineyard in Macedon; and 3ha of pinot noir, 2ha of chardonnay and 1ha of gewurztraminer elsewhere in Macedon. Alister Timms, with degrees in science (University of Melbourne) and oenology (University of Adelaide) became chief winemaker in ’17 (replacing long-serving winemaker Matt Harrop). -JAMES HALLIDAY

Shadowfax's restaurant presents a menu of Mediterranean dishes including antipasti, cheese, woodfired pizzas, pastas, seasonal dishes and desserts. The full range of current-release wines and museum bottles are also available to enjoy in the restaurant together with a range of cocktails and local beers. Live music is presented every Friday night and Sunday lunch. Dine inside or on the outdoor terrace overlooking the vineyard. Bookings recommended.
