Our Review
Patrick and Kirsten Hardiker moved to Tynong North in ‘88, aware of the viticultural potential of the sandy clay loam and bleached subsurface soils weathered from the granite foothills of the Black Snake Ranges. Plantings began in ’97, using organically based cultivation methods; varieties include pinot noir, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, merlot and cabernet sauvignon. The family established the winery in an old farm barn built in the early 1900s by the Weatherhead family, with timber from Weatherhead Hill (visible from the vineyard); it also houses the new cellar door and restaurant. In ‘16 a new cellar door and restaurant, designed by Enarchitects and hand built by Patrick was opened. Awarded 'Cellar Door With Best Food in Gippsland' by Gourmet Traveller Wine in ‘18. -JAMES HALLIDAY
