Barringwood

Tasmania | Northern Tasmania

Our Review

Barringwood has been producing elegant wines from the ultra-cool climate of northwest Tasmania for over 20 years, the vines planted in '93. The vineyard is perched on a steep north-facing slope (overlooking the Don River valley to Bass Strait), with one of the longest growing seasons in Tasmania allowing the grapes to develop complexity while retaining acidity. Vanessa and Neil Bagot were captivated by the property, purchasing Barringwood in '12. They developed new vineyards at Cranbrook and Evandale, with further plantings planned. -JAMES HALLIDAY
