Hartz Barn Wines

Formed in 1997 by Penny Hart (operations director), David Barnett (winemaker/director), Katrina Barnett (marketing director) and Matthew Barnett (viticulture/cellar director), which may suggest that the operation is rather larger than it in fact is. The business name and label have an unexpectedly complex background too, involving elements from all the partners. The grapes come from Dennistone Vineyard, planted to merlot, shiraz, riesling, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay and lagrein. Exports to Japan and NZ. -JAMES HALLIDAY
