Our Review
Scott Higginson is a 7th-generation vigneron, whose family history starts in 1846 on the banks of Jacobs Creek and continues there for 111 years until an ill-fated decision to sell and move to the Riverland where a series of Peter Lehmann–like moves to protect growers from collapses in the wine-grape market turned sour. Scott returned to the Barossa Valley, completing the wine marketing degree at Roseworthy Agricultural College and adding extensive work with medium to large wineries. In 2013 he purchased a housing block at Lyndoch with enough room for 1ha of vines. He also purchases small parcels of premium fruit, making wine on a minimum-intervention basis. With a couple of 8th-generation feet on the ground, some very good wines materialised overnight. -JAMES HALLIDAY
