The birth of their daughter and the launch of the wine label they named after her made ’22 a big year for Glynn and Kamillah Thoman. Glynn was reasonably new to winemaking at the time, having spent over a decade as a marine engineer before he began working in wineries. A stint at Ngeringa under Erinn Klein, who is still a mentor, between ’21 and ’24 was particularly formative, although it’s the wines of Burgundy that are the greatest inspiration. While early releases included chardonnay, and a rosé made from an interesting blend of syrah, pink semillon and viognier, the sole focus since vintage ’25 has been on small-batch, site-driven pinot noir sourced from Adelaide Hills and Macedon Ranges. -ANNA WEBSTER
