Another fast-moving entrant into the Qld wine scene. John Beale and Darryl McCarthy sold their 13.5-ha vineyard established on their substantial cattle property in 2006. Wines from the 2005 and '06 vintages were sold under the Lilyvale brand, with subsequent vintages coming from what they hoped would prove to be new distinguished Qld sites. -JAMES HALLIDAY
