Our Review
Swinging Bridge Estate was established in '95 by the Ward and Payten families. In '08, having been involved from the start, Tom and Georgie Ward took the helm and have since evolved Swinging Bridge into a premium supplier of cool-climate wines from Orange. The label had its founding in Canowindra with initial plantings of chardonnay and shiraz. It's named after the historic wooden pedestrian bridge that traverses the Belubula River at the foot of the vineyard. Tom and Georgie searched for a number of years for the perfect place to call home in Orange, both for their family and Swinging Bridge. Tom’s pursuit of premium grapes resulted in a number of wines made from grapes grown on Peter and Lee Hedberg’s Hill Park Vineyard (planted in '98), which is now the permanent home of Swinging Bridge. Tom and Georgie were able to realise their move when this outstanding property became available. -JAMES HALLIDAY
