Our Review
Riesling has been an all-consuming interest for Ken Helm, one ultimately rewarded with rieslings of consistently high quality. In ’00, he established the Canberra International Riesling Challenge, putting the region on the world stage. Ten years later, Ken was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his contribution to the Australian wine industry. In ’17 Helm completed construction of a separate 40 000L winery purely for riesling, the old winery is now dedicated to producing cabernet sauvignon. In ’23, Helm Wines celebrated its 50-year anniversary and Ken’s 47th riesling vintage. -JAMES HALLIDAY
