Our Review
Graziers Sarah and Tom Guthrie began their diversification into wine in '89, but their core business continues to be fat lamb and wool production. They have acquired the Garden Gully winery in Great Western, which includes a cellar door and a vineyard with shiraz vines planted in 1878 and riesling vines (Victoria’s oldest) dating back to 1890. Grampians Estate followed its success of being Champion Small Winery of Show at the Australian Small Winemakers Show for the 2nd year running in ’18 by winning the Premier’s Trophy for Champion Wine of Victoria in ’19. These successes led to a major expansion of the cellar door, with a new cafe and outdoor area. -JAMES HALLIDAY
