Bass & Flinders Distillery Martime Gin

Oceanic gins often fall into two categories, bright fresh beach day and deep stormy ocean. Bass & Flinders Maritime straddles the line between the two, with a nose distinctly driven by a fruity, saline, fresh profile, reminiscent of recently beached sea plants and warm rock pools. It's a bright and energetic note to draw one in. The palate is a cacophony of deeper, brackish flavours, nearly indistinguishable and heavy in concentration. The base spirit, often notable in Bass & Flinders gin, is shadowed by the botanicals. However, it retains the heady quality that the botanicals stick to. The addition of strawberry gum and wattleseed amplifies the maritime flavours and drives home the nature of this truly unique oceanic gin.
