Bass & Flinders Distillery Heartbreak Pinot Noir Gin

Mornington Peninsula, being home to some excellent Pinot Noir and Bass & Flinders' implementation of wine in their base spirits, makes perfect sense that when creating a wine-gin product, they would use Pinot Noir as the wine. Playing into the fruit aspects of the wine, this gin has concentrated raspberry and strawberry notes; the fortification process they have employed brings out the more stewed, dried qualities in this gin liqueur. This gin focuses on the flavours from the wine, and the gin sits back to a degree as a more supporting element. There is a provincial herb note that backs the fruity flavours nicely, creating a very polished, precise take on the wine-gin trend.
