For every review on this site, the tasting team provides a ‘drink by’ date. While this is not a hard-and-fast rule – think of it as more of a ‘best before’ suggestion – it’s great for giving you an idea of the lifespan of a wine.
If you’re lucky to have any of the back-vintage bottles below stowed away, with drink-by dates of 2021 and 2022, it would be wise to open them soon. If you aren’t yet using the Halliday Virtual Cellar to track drinking windows, now would be a good time to start, as it allows you to sort your wines by these dates and prioritise removing those reaching their peak. The 24 wines ahead are in order of oldest vintage, and include some of Australia’s most celebrated and cellared labels. If you have them, enjoy them today.
