Wine Down Pop Up returns after overwhelming success in its inaugural year. The initiative, headed by Visit Victoria, aims to give guests a unique lifestyle experience in some of the state’s most acclaimed wine destinations.
This year’s accommodation will be stationed at Yarra Valley’s Seville Estate, Mornington Peninsula’s Montalto and Rutherglen’s All Saints Estate. Each destination will have two boutique accommodation pods with luxury furnishings, a “taste of the region” minibar, a breakfast hamper and a private deck.New at this year’s Wine Down destinations will be a third pod housing an immersive bar showcasing Victorian wines and a bespoke virtual reality experience. Visitors are encouraged to book a session or drop by to engage with regional Victoria in an entirely new way.
During the session, guests will be able to sample a range of wines from Victoria’s hero wine regions – the Pinot Coast, Shiraz Central, King Valley Prosecco Road, Muscat of Rutherglen and Yarra Valley – paired with local fresh produce.
Visit Victoria has partnered with sustainable designers Contained to create the premium and eco-friendly locations. Each pod is made from repurposed shipping containers and powered entirely by solar generators. Wine Down Pop Up aims for zero impact on its surrounding environment and is a net zero carbon operation.
The boutique accommodation offerings will be available throughout March, April and May – booking is extremely limited and can be made through Contained.
