What do the Barossa Valley’s Yalumba and Champagne’s Pol Roger have in common? They’re both turning 175 this year, and to celebrate, wine merchant Samuel Smith & Son is bringing them together on Wednesday July 17 for a night of delicious food and fine wine at St Kilda’s Stokehouse restaurant.
Hosted by wine writer Nick Ryan, with guest speakers Jessica Hill-Smith (Yalumba) and Laurent d’Harcourt (Directeur Générale of Pol Roger), the evening includes a five-course menu from Stokehouse executive chef Jason Staudt matched with wines by head sommelier Wil Martin. Guests will also be treated to exclusive first tastes of the 2015 Pol Roger Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill and Yalumba’s flagship, The Caley Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz.
Tickets are limited and priced at $295pp. For more information or to book your place, head to the Stokehouse website.
